Since we are currently in the middle of the hustle and bustle of high traffic season for air travel (think Super Bowl or winter in Aspen) we decided to gather some useful information and tips to ensure that your private jet travel to busy airports remains both relaxing and stress-free.
- PLAN AHEAD
If you know in advance you will be travelling during the high traffic season, or to a highly anticipated event, book early! By booking in advance you will ensure the best equipment for your flight. This way you don’t have to settle for a jet that doesn’t meet your expectations or you don’t typically prefer. Save yourself headaches and money by proactively scheduling and securing your aircraft.
- BE FLEXIBLE
Be flexible with your departure time requests. Allow a window for departure times. Keep in mind that the weather, especially in mountain areas, can change unexpectedly. When the weather reports look bad for flying, airports sometimes reduce the number of slots until the storm passes. Of course, Magellan Jets will work with you to secure an alternate time or airport to meet your schedule.
- AVOID CHANGING FLIGHT TIMES
Trying to stick with your flight schedule will help to avoid conflicts down the road. Slot times are valuable and go quickly, especially during peak season. We highly recommend booking your flights as early as you can and sticking with them.
- ARRIVE ON TIME
The closer you leave to your intended time, the better opportunity you have to guarantee your arrival time. If your slot time is 9am, please allow time for boarding so the jet will be ready and in position for a 9am departure. We recommend you arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time. If you are bringing along skies, boards, or other large luggage, add a few more minutes to make sure there is plenty of time to load them on board.
