It was no small feat that Joshua had up and left Worcester, Massachusetts, for a new life in New York City. But when he got there, he was surrounded by the bigger and better, richer and bolder. The youngbloods irked him, but they also inspired him. He quit his job and became a stock broker himself, working for Sands Brothers. Armed with a telephone, a briefcase, and a chair (a desk would come later), Joshua worked from 7 am to 8 pm, six days a week, cold calling. It was miserable.
