Magellan Jets 101: How To Properly Pick Your Suit Accessories

How To Properly Pick Your Suit Accessories
The Tie: If you play it safe with your shirt and suit, use your tie to make your mark. Conversely, if you’re wearing a loud plaid suit and coordinating striped shirt, keep the tie simple and neutral, BUT don’t be afraid to mix patterns either. Just make sure the patterns are different sizes and that a major color in your tie works back to a minor color in your shirt.

The Pocket Square: Look for something in an unexpected shade that plays off a minor color in either your tie or jacket. A little helpful tip: look to the brightest component of you ensemble; in most cases the tie, but sometimes the shirt, or even the suit itself, your aim should be to give it focus. Set it off.

The Watch: If ever there was a token of flashiness that has had its day, the big ol’ watch is it. Go simple and go strong. Remember, trends like elaborate bezels and oversized dials (i.e., anything larger than 44 mm) come and go, but a midsized watch with a fairly basic design and color scheme never goes out of style, and looks good with everything (casual jeans to three piece suits)!

The Shoe: Lace-up shoes are the most common men’s business shoes and considered more formal. Those are ideal interview shoes. You should also wear them to meetings with executives and clients. The more basic the design, the more versatile the shoe.
