They’re Just Your Normal Headphones
The Airpods can do more than your average earpiece with the implementation of the new W1 chip. Advanced sensors are able to detect when you are listening to your music. so they’ll automatically play and pause when they are taken in or out of your ear. Additional accelerometers live in each Airpod to detect when you are speaking and filter out noise so your voice sounds clearer than ever.
The Airpods Are Inconspicuous
Twitter, instagram and the media in general have had a field day making some harsh comparisons to Apple’s newest technology. Although Apple designed the headphones with convenience in mind, they do not meet the look factor when resting in your ear.

Apple Is Forcing You To Buy $160 Headphones
Contrary to popular belief, this is actually quite the opposite, but with a twist. Much of the fuss about the Airpods is that no one wants to buy $160 headphones. Although it is true Apple did away with the headphone Jack, they offer a port that plugs into the lightning rod so regular headphones can still play on the Iphone 7. However, the headphone jack takes space away from other technology on your phone so choose wisely when you decide which headphones to use.
These changes will certainly add a new dynamic while traveling to your favorite city this fall. The Airpods won’t officially be released until late October, so we will have to wait and see if they truly are ground breaking technology or a major mistake.
