Interior
Capable of seating up to 8 passengers, the 800XP has a significantly upgraded interior from its predecessor, measuring almost 6 feet high, 21 feet long, and six feet wide. With one of the largest cabins in the mid-size category, passengers have plenty of room to move around and stretch their legs. There are 48 cubic feet of internal luggage storage on the business jet, allowing for passengers to quickly access their luggage during flight.
The Hawker 800XP is typically configured with a four-person club section, a three-person divan, and one forward-facing seat. The newly-tailored seats are extremely comfortable and provide 360-degree rotation. The upgraded, user-friendly Rockwell Collins Airshow 21 Cabin Management System provides each passenger with 15-inch LCD VIP touch screens, allowing for passengers to control lighting, temperature and the on-flight entertainment system at their fingertips. The cabin lighting has been improved by changing the window shape from square to oval, resulting in more natural light. Raytheon also outfitted the cabin with LED lighting and drop-down work tables, which provide passengers with a comfortable, well-lit workspace.
Performance
As a third-generation model of the Hawker 800 series, the 800XP has vast upgrades in its performance compared to its predecessor—namely, improved short- and long-range capability. The top-tier business jet is powered by two AlliedSignal TFE731-5BR engines, delivering 4,660 pounds of thrust upon takeoff. With an impressive cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, the Hawker 800XP can easily avoid air traffic and adverse weather conditions.
The 800XP’s upgraded winglets improve the aircraft’s maximum range to 2,540 nautical miles, enabling the aircraft to fly great distances internationally and coast to coast. During long-range cruise, the business jet can fly up to 39,000 feet while traveling at 460 mph; it can reach maximum speeds up to 514 mph. Compared to its predecessor, the Hawker 800XP has an enhanced fuel capacity, as well as the unique capability to take off from shorter runways than most midsize jets, allowing greater access to more airports.
Avionics
Hawker 800XP is equipped with one of the most advanced avionics suites among mid-size jets, featuring Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21. Pilots are provided with a more user-friendly cockpit, featuring four 10x8–inch liquid crystal displays, dual flight management systems, a digital autopilot system, and a GPS global positioning system. Additionally, to improve pilot’s vision and aircraft awareness during flight, the avionics suite features a traffic alert and collision avoidance system, turbulence-detection weather radar system, and a terrain awareness warning system.
