Gulfstream G650 reaches maximum cruising speed!
On May 3rd Gulfstream announced that its new ultra long-range, high-speed business jet, the G650, had reached its designed maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. This makes it the fastest business jet in the world (the previous holder, Cessna’s Citation X, only managed Mach 0.92). The flight lasted almost two hours and included maneuvering and systems tests. The G650 is on track to enter service in 2012.
