2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver
Although the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are several months away, it's not too early to start planning your Olympic getaway! From February 12th - February 28th, athletes and spectators from around the world will head to Vancouver to take part in the world's greatest multi-sport event. Vancouver is a premier sporting destination on its own, but is the ultimate destination when combined with the Winter Olympics. Additionally, the Paralympic Games will take place from March 12th - March 21st.
If you are thinking of traveling to Vancouver and the alpine resort of Whistler, now is the time to start planning. Many tickets have already been sold, and as a United States resident, you are only able to purchase tickets through CoSport, the authorized ticket sales agent of the US Olympic Committee. Tickets are limited, and availability is limited to the Closing Ceremony, Figure Skating, and Ice Hockey. Ticket availability changes frequently, so continue checking their website. The Sports Legends Challenge Event is Unveiled
In a press release on May 21st, the Sports Legends Challenge event was officially unveiled to the public:
The Sports Legends Challenge presented by AbsolutePoker.net is the ultimate sports fantasy experience. For the first time in history, sports fans from around the world will compete with and against 25 of the greatest Sports Legends of our time, along with 25 of the world's Poker Pros, including Troy Aikman, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Richard Petty, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Ditka, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Moneymaker, Johnny Chan, Jamie Gold and many more. The Legends, Poker Pros and participants will play in a wide-range of competitive tournaments for up to $10,000,000 in prize money. On September 14-17, 2009, the inaugural Sports Legends Challenge, benefitting the Butch Kerzner Summit Foundation, will take place at Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas. The resort will serve as a backdrop for this world-class sports and gaming event.
