As the Gulfstream brand looked to advance its loyal commitment to providing optimal performance and advancements, the Gulfstream IV was drafted. Elaborating on the existing trademarks of the Gulfstream brand, the IV SP promotes these ideals with technical advancements and cabin upgrades.
First delivered in 1987, the Gulfstream IV is immediately recognizable by its low/swept wing with winglets, its swept T-tail with swept horizontal stabilizer, and its two powerful rear fuselage mounted engines. The technical advancements of the Gulfstream IV are largely in part to the two Rolls-Royce MK 611-8 engines that power this jet above and beyond the previous fuel consumption rates, by a 15% improvement margin. With these engines, the Gulfstream IV will fly at speeds up to 505 knots and has a range of 4,220 nautical miles.
This darling of the pilot community has employed several systems that improve pilot maneuverability and ease of flight: namely Collins radios, FMS and dual Honeywell laser inertial reference systems. This jet also includes Goodyear Aerospace’s brake-by-wire system and a Dowty fail-passive steer-by-wire system, and is the first of the Gulfstream family to put this system to use. All of Magellan Jet's Gulfstream IV jets are piloted by an ARG/US or Wyvern approved crew.
The Gulfstream IV’s interior offers seating for ten to twelve passengers, and room for more than just those seated. The cabin has been lengthened by 4.5 feet of useable space, leaving plenty of room for freedom of movement for those that need to feel unrestricted and creating a great aesthetic addition of 6 large circular windows. The Gulfstream IV has a stand-up cabin, and facilities and components that will make any of its travelers feel at home, while actually in-flight.
Due to the evolution of technology and mechanics introduced to the Gulfstream IV-SP (Special Performance, higher payload), as well Gulfstream's brand trait of a luxurious cabin, either jet is a judicious choice for any looking to combine reliability, innovation, and comfort in their selection of private aviation vehicle.
