As the unofficial start to summer, Memorial Day weekend is prime time for travel. However, this year’s holiday will be a bit different due to the coronavirus pandemic. On the latest episode, Weeber explains why we should take time to reflect on the holiday’s origins.
“This is the weekend where we are supposed to honor the sacrifice given by those who paid the ultimate price and their families,” says Weeber. He believes we can pay homage to their service by continuing to adhere to safe practices to combat the coronavirus.
In particular, Weeber hopes everyone continues to cover their faces, wash their hands and surfaces, as well as maintain proper social distance and monitoring systems. Taking these precautions are the least we can do to safely celebrate Memorial Day this year.

Beyond taking precautions, fixed based operators, or FBOs, must also adhere to enhanced health and safety guidelines. Weeber explains that all private terminals and their personnel must specific standards as outlined by government agencies and Magellan Jets.
“We make it clear that on behalf of our guests and their fellow passengers, that there’s a certain safety standard that must be maintained,” says Weeber. “We’re going with the ultimate recommendations by the FAA… but also CDC and FDA requirements.”
