As the first SUV from Mercedes-Maybach, the G 650 Landaulet expands the sub-brand’s reinvention of classic vehicles. This luxury off-road classic was recently debuted at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show and is expected to begin making deliveries later in 2017.
The G 650 Landaulet is an open-top SUV model produced by the growing Maybach family. Traditionally, a Landaulet is a chauffeured coupe or sedan vehicle with a convertible top covering only the rear passengers. Maybach’s G 650 has a hard and soft-top combination roof. The hard-top roof covers only the driver and front seat passenger. For those sitting in the rear, the soft-top electric roof can open or close with the ease of pushing a button to provide an open-air experience.
To enhance the chauffeur experience, a glass partition separates the rear seats from the front. At the push of a button, this divider can go up or down, and switch from transparent to opaque for increased privacy. The rear seats also feature a massage function, temperature controlled cup holders, folding tables, and footrests for added comfort and seamless travel.
This all-terrain SUV is the first off-road vehicle from the Mercedes-Maybach brand, and can comfortably seat four passengers with ample space. Luxurious leather trim seats with diamond stitching along with chrome-plating enhance the high-end vehicle. Two 10-inch entertainment screens allow back seat passengers to adjust seat and temperature settings with ease.
Additionally, buyers can choose from three roof colors and four trim colors when designing the vehicle. The G 650 Landaulet is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine, which is rated to produce 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.
Delivering an unforgettable off-road experience, the G 650 Landaulet is a first-class reinterpretation of a 1979 classic. Only 99 examples of the G 650 will be released and although the price is not available yet, it will most likely range anywhere from $226,000 to half a million dollars.
