China has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the need to support that growth with private business jets is being crippled by 20
th century infrastructure, burdening regulatory policies, and very few executive and municipal airports. Those who conduct business in China may find travelling there privately a burden; however, Chinese officials seem to be taking steps to make their country more accessible by private jet. Recently, Textron announced plans to partner with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) to develop the nation’s general and business aviation manufacturing capability, in addition to the infrastructure needed to grow aviation within China’s borders. Business jets would greatly benefit domestic companies that manufacture in China in addition to helping sustain the growth China is experiencing. Cessna has a successful history in establishing service and training centers for their aircraft worldwide. Hopefully, with China’s cooperation, Cessna can expand its horizons across the Pacific and make business aircraft more accessible in the World’s fastest growing economic region. Magellan Jets is proud to offer our clients the most convenient, safe and luxurious private jet experience possible and we look forward to building our reputation as the leader in private jet charters across the Far East.
The island-nation of Sing apore been an economic hub for centuries and has continued to grow at an impressive rate through the beginning of the 21 st century. Trillions of dollars flow through Singapore every year enabling the country to boast the highest GDP to trade ratio in the world. A corruption-free business climate, low taxes, a state-of-the-art infrastructure have attracted more than 10,000 multinational companies to set-up operations there. What makes Singapore so attractive in the first place? To begin, the nation is meticulously clean and is virtually drug and crime free. The county’s unforgiving legal system keeps citizens in line; however, their lenient business regulations allow companies to be more efficient and productive. What’s more, Singapore is conveniently located at the doorsteps of India and China; the two fastest-growing economies in the world today.
Asia is new to the world of business aviation; however, Singapore has embraced the concept and is relatively lenient in regards to regulation compared to most other Asian countries. For starters, no advanced visa is required for citizens of the United States and most European countries. In addition, the main airport located in Changi can accommodate any size business aircraft allowing for more direct flights from the United States and Europe. It is safe to assume that, at some point, the vast advantages of doing business in Singapore will have you looking for ways to get there. Magellan Jets, a leader in private jet charters, has the experience and dedication required to make your flight as comfortable and seamless as possible. The “Great Recession” of 2008 was a dagger in the heart for the private jet industry and resulted in many individuals and corporations resorting to commercial aviation. The tides seem to be turning, however, as the industry is noticing upward growth in private aircraft use. According to private aviation analyst, Brian Foley, many corporations have the capital to finance a private jet but are reluctant due to the stability of the economy. Aircraft ownership entails an enormous financial commitment driven by the cost of fuel, maintenance, hangaring, support personnel, pilot training and insurance. Thankfully, there are alternatives to jet ownership and we have your solution here at Magellan Jets. We are proud to offer a wide variety of flexible and affordable jet charter products that remove all financial risk out of owning an aircraft. The world of flight fascinates many of those who experience it and sometimes sparks a fire in a person’s soul to become a licensed pilot themselves. Unfortunately, some may not be able to commit the time or just aren’t comfortable piloting an aircraft alone. For these individuals, an exciting and growing hobby exists that allows users to pilot an aircraft without ever leaving the ground. Remote Controlled (RC) aircraft put the world of flight at your fingertips and provide hours of thrilling entertainment for land-loving aviators. There is something rewarding about seeing a 3 month week-end project take flight and soar through the skies at speeds that can reach into the hundreds of miles per hour. If that number sounds intimidating, RC aircraft range in all sizes and have a wide range of performance capabilities. As your flying skills improve, there will never be a lack of challenge as you move progress to bigger and faster aircraft. Specifically, beginners can learn with electric-powered trainers and transition through the ranks to large turbine-powered jets; similar to the one shown in the clip above.
A wide range of RC airports exist throughout the country and if you get really good, you can show off your skills at an RC air show. All parts and accessories for your RC plane can be purchased at a local hobby shop or from a wide range of internet businesses. For the savvy RC flyer, you can choose to upgrade the stock equipment on your plane and add some impressive features. New technology for RC aircraft include high-speed cameras to film your flight and the ability to control your plane from an iPad. In a sense, this hobby features no shortage of possibilities which makes for years of excitement and adventure. So, if you’re in the market for a new pastime and want to fuel your love for aviation, look no further than your local or on-line hobby supply store; your RC plane is ready for take-off!

For the past 14 years, Piers 94 & 92 on the Hudson River have played host to New York’s contemporary art fair, the Armory Show. In 2012, this cultural showcase will run March 8-11, with a greater focus on the galleries, allowing them a larger footprint at the fair.
From museum professionals and avid collectors to the novice admirer, art enthusiasts will enjoy this year’s Commissioned Artist, Theaster Gates. Known for his sculptures, performances and urban installations, Gates is sure to excite audiences with his socially relevant work.
Equally intriguing is this year's Armory Focus: the Nordic Countries, which will allow a select group of galleries from Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway & Sweden to showcase some of the region's most innovative creative talent. While some may complain about the crowds, there is no doubt that the event is a wonderful place to absorb some top-notch contemporary art.
If accommodation is required, consider Chelsea’s hottest new hotel, The Dream Downtown. Conveniently located on Manhattan's west side, it makes it easy for guests to participate in all of the fair’s festivities. Owned by Vikram Chatwel, the Dream Downtown boasts 316 luxuriously modern rooms, all equipped with complimentary high-speed internet access.
From the Dream’s rooftop lounge, PH-D, guests can take in the stunning views of the New York City skyline. Or relax poolside along the Dream Downtown’s 50ft. outdoor heated pool, complete with 5,000 sq ft pool deck, beach club and private cabanas. An imaginative, full-service luxury hotel, it's the perfect match for one of New York City's most exciting annual art shows.
The world’s airports are the lifeblood of the transportation industry and the foundation of international and domestic commerce. Airports link the country and the world together, allowing millions everyday to travel faster and more efficiently than ever before. Unfortunately, most airports that serve major cities are inconveniently located miles from the city listed on your itinerary. JFK International in New York, for example is located 17 miles outside of Manhattan whereas Penn Station is located in the heart of the city. Nevertheless, most people do not mind a few extra minutes on the ground to take advantage of air transportation. However, wouldn’t it be convenient if JFK and Penn Station were to switch places? With the new “Aerotropolis” concept, the possibility of such an idea is being developed and may soon become reality.
Aerotropolis is literally an airport surrounded by a city. Much like the picture shown above, steps from the terminal building lay offices, luxury hotels, fine restaurants, convention centers, entertainment venues, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers. The golden rule of Aerotropolis is to have nothing lay beyond a 15 minute drive from the airport; allowing the time and cost savings of flying privately to dramatically increase. “Mono-Rails” will connect all areas of the Aerotropolis allowing users to be anywhere in the city quickly and easily. Attending conventions, hosting valued clients for meetings, and conducting daily business will be easier than ever before. The efficiency, ease of access and luxuries amenities will provide extensive business and leisure opportunities for private travelers and set the standard for airports around the world. Magellan Jets, the industry leader in private jet charters, is looking forward to providing our clients with the option to utilize Aerotropolis in the future. For now, we are pleased to provide you with a wide range of private travel options on the safest, most technologically advanced aircraft in the world.
