The 2013 Magellan Jets Open was played at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club on January 4th. The 5th annual event is a two man pro-pro tournament that has had past winners like Lee Janzen, Chris DiMarco and Sam Saunders.
This years event had an exciting conclusion as 3 teams dueled it out over the final holes before Matt Every holed a 6 foot putt on the last hole for he and partner, Vince Covello, to win by one shot. With a two shot lead going into the last hole, the victory looked certain until
their approach shot plugged under the lip. The last round format was alternate shot so Matt managed to move the ball out of the lip backwards enough for Vince to get his shot from the trap to 6 feet before Matt made the winning putt.
Matt Every had his best year ever on the PGA Tour in 2012 with well over a million dollars in earnings and several top 10 finishes. Vince Covello missed by one shot at Q School and will be playing on the Web.Com Tour this year. They finished one shot ahead of 2011 AT T Pebble Beach Champion, DA Points and his partner, Ryder Cup player, JB Holmes. Defending champions and PGA Tour players, Chris DiMarco and Billy Horschel finished two shots back
1 Matt Every/ Vince Covello 135. -9
2. DA Points/JB Holmes 136 -8
3. Chris DiMarco/ Billy Horschel 137 -7
4. Dave Rummels/Jim Chancey 138 -6
4. Ty Harris/Jesse Hutchins 138 -6
6. Lee Janzen/Bubba Dickerson 141 -
Congratulations to our winners and thank you for another successful event!

The ZL Encore Driver
When two of the best companies in their respective fields put their heads together, something special is bound to come out of it. Using Ferrari’s knowledge in aerodynamics and Cobra Puma’s knowledge in golf equipment, the companies have designed a one of a kind performance driver. The ZL Encore features advanced multi-material construction, carbon fiber crown and sole and dense tungsten inserts for center of gravity optimization to create a superior head design. The advanced technology does not end with the head, however. A Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft and genuine leather grip brings the entire club together that makes it truly unique. “Working with the Ferrari aerodynamic team was an excellent experience. Their expertise helped us think differently about the design of the club head, resulting in a superior driver that delivers serious speed and distance gains,” says Tom Preece, Vice President of Cobra Club Research and Development.
The Ferrari Sport & Luxury Golf Bags.
A beautifully engineered driver loses some of its luster when transported in a mediocre golf bag. For this reason, Ferrari and Cobra Puma have designed two high performance and super luxurious golf bags that complete the entire ensemble. The Performance Golf Bag features 1680 ballistic nylon construction that delivers the same performance and reliability as a Ferrari sports car. Available in either a red with black trim or black with red trim color scheme, your Performance Golf Bag will be the most unique and stylish on the golf course. The Luxury Golf Bag is truly a one of a kind golfing accessory. Encased in Poltrona Frau Leather, the same leather used in Ferrari GT cars, it offers superior durability in an attractive, stylish presentation. The Ferrari Golf Collection does not end with the driver and golf bags, however. A full array of accessories, apparel, equipment and foot ware are available through authorized dealers and online at ferrarigolfcollection.com.

On Thursday, January 5, 2012, private jet company, Magellan Jets was the exclusive title sponsor in the Fourth Annual Magellan Jets Waldorf Astoria Open. This PGA team event was held at The Waldorf Astoria GC in Orlando, Florida. This event involved many top players off of the PGA Tour. The participants were thrilled to be playing on the challenging 18-hole Rees Jones-designed championship course which winds through a large wetland preserve and measuring 7108 yards with a Par 72, Slope 139, and 74.6 rating from its Professional Tees. On the day of the tournament, the majestic pine and cypress trees lining the fairways glistened in the sun, making it a beautiful and memorable day for everyone present.
In an exciting finish at the tournament, Chris DiMarco shot a 6 under par and course record 66 on his own ball and partnered with fellow University of Florida alum, Billy Horschel, to win the 4th annual Magellan Jets Waldorf Astoria Open. Chris who has been runner up in the Masters and was the hero of the 2005 Presidents Cup, shot 5 under on the front nine and together they finished strong as each player made a 20' putt on the 18th hole to win by two shots over last year’s champions, Sam Saunders (Arnold Palmer's grandson) and EJ Cole. Englishman Brian Davis (runner up at 2011 Hilton Head PGA Tour event) and Greg Owen finished in 3rd place.
After having spent 10 years at Keene's Pointe running the Brian Mogg Performance Center, Brian Mogg is now the Director of Instruction at the Waldorf Astoria GC. The move to the WAGC in April 2011 has been a positive one. DA Points won his first PGA Tour event at the AT&T Pebble Beach tournament in February. This was the 22nd win by a Tour player who works with the BMPC since 2001 on one of the major Tours. Brian Mogg reflected on the tournament stating, "It was great to see Chris shoot a course record and Chris/Billy birdie the last 2 holes to win the tournament. The pros had a great day, the Waldorf was in amazing shape and everyone appreciated Magellan's support.”

Sidney Crosby is one of the best players in the NHL and recently pulled a Happy Gilmore. The Pittsburgh Penguins star took a private jet into Hamilton Airport in Ancaster, Ontario yesterday to attend a private golf function. The event was held at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada and carried a $2,000 per golfer price tag. The outing was sponsored by Tim Horton’s charitable foundation and was so exclusive that even members of the club weren’t permitted. PGA Tour pros Graham Delaet and Blake Adams also attended to show their support. Golf is a great sport and people fly all around the world to play. Whether you are playing at Bethpage Black in Long Island, Pebble Beach in California, or the Old Course at St. Andrews, Magellan Jets can help create the ultimate golf trip with a private jet, car services, and even tee times!
